WORKING TOGETHER TO STRENGTHEN OUR COMMUNITY
Onslow’s current fleet consists of two Mercedes two-wheel drive ambulances, and a dual cab four-wheel drive supplied to the Community Paramedic.
Over the past three years, Onslow’s team have attended over twenty beach and off-road medical emergencies, these includes incidents at Back Beach Onslow, Northwest Coastal Highway and Peedamulla Road. These call-outs have proven to be a challenge and without a fit-for purpose four-wheel drive (4WD) ambulance response times have been affected.
To better serve the community, the addition of a 4WD ambulance will
- help solve challenging call-outs, enabling the team to attend patients quickly and efficiently,
- provide the local community the reassurance that qualified and fit-for-purpose first aid assistance is readily at hand,
- provide equitable access to first-class, pre-hospital medical care and response times, treatment and extractions for those who live, work and pass through the region.
At a cost of approximately $260,000 the 4WD ambulance will be based at St John subcentre at Onslow. We're reaching out to all business in the region to help us fund for the ambulance.
There is no amount too small to put towards the funding goal and all donations are tax deductible.
