With over 30 years’ experience within the Australian and New Zealand resource industry, Jim has had the privilege of holding management positions on some of the most well-known, large scale and high producing mining projects in Australia (and the world) – with a focus on iron ore, gold, coal, diamonds, manganese, and now salt mining operations. Currently the General Manager of Operation for Onslow Salt becoming an Onslow resident in late 2024. Onslow Salt has been an integral part of the Onslow community since the late 1990s with the first shipment of salt in 2001 with a strong workforce being predominately residential aiding in building the Onslow community.
Jim plays an integral role overseeing day to day operations with key interest in building large and effective workforces that are productive, innovative, safe, and professional along with being inclusive, and diverse. Being part of the OCCI committee allows for further community relationship development liaising with key stakeholders sharing resources, networking opportunities, and a further opportunity for innovative ideas to be shared. Having been within a management role in small communities previously, Jim has strong understanding of the vital role an organisation like OCCI plays for business of all sizes as well as the overall community.
