As part of the Chevron Onslow Relief Fund to support the Onslow Community during this time of uncertainty resulting from the global outbreak of COVID-19, the Upskill for the Future Program was designed to support those who are unemployed, underemployed or engaged in casual employment to upskill via training by providing grants of up to $2,500 for eligible local residents.

The first round closed on the 31st of May and we received a fantastic number of applications that we look forward to making some further announcements on in the near future but, we are also really excited to announce the program has been opened up for a second round of applications.

Round 2 will involve the same criteria other than the employment status – round 1 stipulated you must have been made unemployed in the last 6 months, round 2’s criteria will be open to all those local residents that can prove they are currently unemployed doesn’t matter when or how long you have been unemployed for.

You must also still meet the other criteria for the program:

  • Over 16 years of Age
  • A permanent resident of Onslow
  • Unemployed, underemployed or engaged in casual employment

Please check through the application form for further details on each of these criteria’s.

All training courses commencing by 31 December 2020 offered by a Registered Training Organisation will be considered.

All applications will be assessed after the closing date of the 30th of June 2020 and applicants will be advised if successful or not by the 17th of July 2020.

In the event of the program being oversubscribed, an independent panel will assess all applications to determine allocation of funding support.
